It was about a 30 minute walk from our hotel, and we only got slightly lost down a random alleyway. We ended up cutting through the back entrance of a restaurant, and walked straight out the front door (a bit awkward).
The Curry Culture
Cuppage Terrace has a LOT of nice looking restaurants, all with beautiful outdoor (covered) seating, with big fans helping circulate the air. The Curry Culture had a big projector screen showing trailers of Bollywood movies. The restaurant beside it was playing popular music. For several trailers, I thought they were music videos instead. *hangs head*
So ready to eat!
Mango juice for me, IPA for him
Variety of dippers for our poppadoms
This eggplant curry caught my eye on the menu: Hyderabadi Baingan. The description on the menu said "Don't like eggplant? try this combination of eggplant, fresh coconut and peanuts and you are a convert for life". So I ordered it, despite Cory "hating" eggplant.
Hyderabadi Baingan - Cory totally loved it
Fluffy basmati rice
You can't go wrong with CTM. I loved this version! I interrogated the waiter about the recipe, and found out that they use cashews, a splash of cream, no yogurt, and it is slow cooked. Absolutely loved this rendition, and I made sure to let our waiter know!
Murgh/Chicken Tikka Masala
Plus a garlic naan
The garlic naan was a bit flat (as opposed to the breadier, fluffier versions we've been used to), but the garlic was restrained without being stingy. Very good as well.
Bottom Line: Amazing dinner here at The Curry Culture! Highly recommended for the great food, as well as the lovely chill atmosphere. If we lived in Singapore, I think Cuppage Terrace is the kind of place I'd like to hang out!
I have only just recently discovered the brilliance of Cuppage Terrace ... I will check this place out for sure! :D
